The Cabinet of Ministers has approved an amendment allowing foreign visitors to purchase goods from the duty-free shops at Colombo Port City over two separate occasions within four days of arrival, without changing the existing annual duty-free allowance of $2,000.

This decision, made during the Cabinet meeting on 22 December 2025, was formally published via Special Gazette notifications .
