A devastating head-on collision between two motorcycles in the Attawilluwa area of Puttalam late last night (13) has resulted in the deaths of both riders and left two passengers seriously injured.

One rider passed away shortly after being admitted to the Puttalam Base Hospital.

The second rider succumbed to his injuries while being urgently transferred to the Colombo National Hospital for specialized care.

Two passengers who were traveling on the motorcycles at the time of the impact are currently undergoing treatment at the Puttalam Hospital. Their conditions are reported as stable but serious.

Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident, police said.
