Six schools in the Dehiowita Education Zone have been closed today (22) due to prevailing rainy weather conditions.

The Zonal Director of Education instructed three schools in Ruwanwella and three schools in Dehiowita to suspend classes and send students home.

Other school principals have been given authority to decide on closures based on local weather conditions.

Meanwhile, the Kegalle–Avissawella road in Dehiowita has been flooded, disrupting traffic movement.
