Sri Lankan massage therapist Praneeth Lasantha secured a historic silver medal at the 2025 Universal Massage Championship in Thailand.

Competing in the Spa and Wellness category, he impressed judges with his skills, becoming the first Sri Lankan to win a medal in an international massage competition.

Accordingly, the event, organised by the World Massage Federation, featured 80 competitors from 21 countries.

Lasantha returned to Sri Lanka yesterday (2) and was warmly welcomed at Katunayake Airport by industry colleagues and well-wishers.
