The Department of Meteorology has forecast several spells of showers in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and the Galle and Matara districts tomorrow (30).

A few showers are also expected in the North-Western Province.

Showers or thundershowers are likely in parts of the Central, Uva and Eastern provinces, as well as the Polonnaruwa and Hambantota districts, after 1.00 p.m. Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm is possible in some locations.

Mainly fair weather is expected elsewhere across the island.

The public has been advised to take precautions against localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
