A massive influx of pilgrims and tourists was reported at Sripadastana yesterday (1) coinciding with the long weekend and the Medin Full Moon Poya.
The Nallathanniya Police stated that more than 100,000 devotees had arrived by yesterday morning, marking the highest weekend turnout since the commencement of this year’s Sripada pilgrimage season.

Nallathanniya town were filled to capacity, with thousands of vehicles parked along the Nallathanniya–Maskeliya road, stretching nearly six kilometres towards Riverston.
Severe congestion was reported at key points along the pilgrimage route, including Indikatu Pana and Mahagiri Dambe.
Authorities, including the Nallathanniya Police, said necessary measures had been taken to manage the crowds and provide essential facilities to pilgrims.
