A forest fire in the Ella Rock mountain range, part of the Ravana Ella forest reserve, has been brought under control.

Accordingly, the fire, which started on 13 February, spread rapidly due to dry weather, strong winds, and steep terrain, reaching near the Ravana Ella waterfall.

The fire posed risks of explosions and falling rocks.

Authorities confirmed that the fire is now under control.
