The Supreme Court(SC) directed the Attorney General’s(AG) Department to file a Contempt of Court charge sheet against I.G.S. Premathilaka, former Director of the National Institute of Education(NIE), for failing to comply with a court order linked to the 2024 Grade 5 Scholarship exam paper leak.

Premathilaka was previously ordered to pay Rs. 3 million in compensation for violating fundamental rights, but has not yet complied.

The Court also issued notice for him to appear on 26 March before a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena.
