Sri Lanka’s overall inflation, measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index, has increased to 5.4% on a year-on-year basis in April 2026, according to the Department of Census and Statistics.
This marks a notable rise from the 2.2% recorded in March.
Food inflation also increased to 2.8% in April, up from 0.7% in the previous month, while non-food inflation rose to 6.8% from 2.9%.
The latest figures indicate a broad uptick in price levels across both food and non-food categories.
