The Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) has urged all medical practitioners to follow official prescription guidelines after receiving complaints about unclear or illegible prescriptions.

The SLMC stated that poor handwriting makes it difficult for pharmacists to identify medicines, posing risks to patient safety.

The Council warned that failure to comply with its Code of Professional Conduct could lead to disciplinary action.
