The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has announced arrangements to provide electricity for the upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year festivals and other celebrations nationwide this month. 

Minister Vijitha Herath stated that necessary steps have been taken to ensure energy supply for these events, provided organizers make the required payments.

Organizers can access electricity from the CEB between 15 April and 19 April by completing the relevant payment procedures. 

Minister Herath emphasized the importance of efficient electricity usage during the festive season and highlighted that the CEB will support continuous power supply to facilitate celebrations, including musical events and cultural festivals.

The move aims to ensure that festivities proceed smoothly without power disruptions during this special period.
