Sri Lankan badminton star Nadeesha Gayanthi, who represented the country at the 108th All England Senior Badminton Championship held in England, returned home after clinching a gold and a silver medal at the international tournament.
The 108th All England Senior Badminton Championship was held in London from 10-12 April with the participation of around 400 players representing 25 countries.
Gayanthi won the gold medal in the over-40 Women’s singles category and went onto grab the silver medal in the mixed doubles event, capping a significant achievement for Sri Lanka on the international stage.
The badminton prodigy returned to the country for a rousing welcome at the BIA Katunayake last week.
