Mainly fair weather will prevail over most parts of the island today.

However, showers or thundershowers are likely at a few places in the Southern Province and in the Ratnapura and Monaragala districts after 2.00 p.m.

A few showers may also occur in the coastal areas of the Western Province during the morning, according to the Department of Meteorology.
