A Turkish Airlines aircraft that made an emergency return to Bandaranaike International Airport(BIA) due to a technical fault is currently undergoing maintenance, airport sources reported. 

The airline’s website indicates the flight is scheduled to depart for Istanbul at 10.00 p.m. tomorrow(18). 

Flight TK733 returned early today after the pilot detected a landing gear malfunction shortly after departure last night. 

The Airbus A330 landed safely at 12.17 a.m. after fuel was jettisoned over the sea off Chilaw. All 202 passengers and 10 crew were unharmed and taken to nearby hotels.
