Aruni Ranaraja assumes duties as Foreign Secretary

The Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism Aruni Ranaraja assumed her duties yesterday (19), following her appointment by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.


With 28 years of experience in the Sri Lanka Foreign Service, she held several key roles including Ambassador to the Netherlands and the Philippines and as a Permanent Representative of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).


Prior to this appointment, Aruni Ranaraja was also Additional Secretary and Chief of Protocol since April 2024.
