Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the Chief Prelates of the Malwathu and Asgiriya Chapters in Kandy this morning (23) and received their blessings.

He met Most Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Thero of Malwathu and Most Ven. Dr. Warakagoda Dhammasiddi Sri Gnanarathabidhana Thero of Asgiriya.

Reports indicate he discussed the current political situation with the Maha Nayakas, but journalists were not allowed to cover the meeting.

Ranil Wickremesinghe told reporters afterwards that he is no longer active in politics.
