The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) has issued a warning about fake web links related to fuel QR codes that are spreading across social media and messaging platforms. 

Senior Information Security Engineer Charuka Damunupola explained that these fraudulent links falsely claim to provide access to the official QR code system for fuel purchases.

The authorities cautioned the public to be vigilant and avoid clicking on suspicious or unofficial websites, links shared via messaging apps, or any unknown sources on social media. 

These deceptive links are designed to mislead users and potentially steal personal or financial information.
