The deadline granted to the Parliamentary Special Committee appointed to investigate the lack of preparedness to face Cyclone Ditwah has been extended until 19 December.

The extension was approved following a proposal presented by Leader of the House and Minister Bimal Rathnayake.

The committee was granted additional time to submit its findings and recommendations to Parliament, as required under the resolution adopted on 21 January 2026.

Accordingly, the committee has been granted an extension under Standing Order 102 of Parliament to submit its final report.
