Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment says Kuwait was the largest source of worker remittances to Sri Lanka in 2025.

SLBFE Chairman Kosala Wickramasinghe said Sri Lankan workers in Kuwait sent around $893mn last year.

Qatar ranked second, followed by the United Arab Emirates, with remittances continuing to be one of Sri Lanka's main sources of foreign exchange.
