A total of 5,747 people from 1,594 families have been affected by rainy weather across Sri Lanka, according to the Disaster Management Centre (DMC).
The report records eight deaths, one person missing and 12 injured. Four houses have been completely destroyed, while 953 others have sustained partial damage.
Meanwhile, drought conditions continue to affect 156,756 people from 47,583 families across 12 districts. The DMC has distributed drinking water to 128,977 people from 38,547 families.
