The Sri Lanka Army has activated a central operations center to coordinate nationwide rescue and relief efforts amid severe floods and landslides, Army Commander Lt. Gen. Lasantha Rodrigo said.
Working with the Navy, Air Force, Police, and Disaster Managementk Center, the operation oversees district-level coordination and supports Divisional Secretaries.
So far, 20,500 troops have been deployed and 3,490 people rescued and relocated.
