Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath held discussions with ASEAN Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn on strengthening Sri Lanka’s engagement with ASEAN and regional cooperation.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum 2026 in Manila, with discussions focusing on trade relations, people-to-people connectivity and closer cooperation with ASEAN member states.

Minister Herath also participated in events marking the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia.
