A special meeting of the Food Policy and Security Committee was held yesterday (06) at the Parliament Complex to discuss the possible impact of the Middle East conflict on Sri Lanka’s food supply.

The meeting focused on maintaining adequate stocks of essential food items, managing price fluctuations and ensuring fuel supply for food production and the fisheries sector.

Authorities also discussed potential challenges if exporting countries impose restrictions on fertilisers and agrochemicals.
