A medical report on former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa was submitted to the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today(16)in connection with an investigation into the National Savings Bank’s payment of Rs. 10 million to the Siriliya Saviya organisation.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama noted that the report, submitted with a covering letter from the Director of the Colombo National Hospital, contained details of her medical condition and referred to the need for bypass surgery.

Additional Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris, appearing for the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), requested time to examine the report. The court subsequently adjourned proceedings until 2.45 p.m.
