The 'Podi Menike' train resumed services between Nanu Oya and Badulla yesterday(20), restoring operations on the section after a seven-month suspension.
Train services had been disrupted due to a landslide caused by Cyclone Ditwah between Ambewela and Nanu Oya.
Officials stated the damaged railway section has now been restored and noted that full Colombo–Badulla train operations are expected to resume before the end of the year.
