Renowned Baila artist Saman De Silva has passed away, and family sources have confirmed.

He was celebrated for his lively contribution to Baila music, with popular songs like ‘Niyare Piya Nagala’, ‘Punchi Kurulu Kuduwe’, and ‘Suroopi Viroopi’ (Epa Epa Rewatenu) remaining fan favorites.

Throughout his career, De Silva performed internationally, taking Sri Lankan Baila music to audiences around the world.

He was also an alumnus of Nalanda College, Colombo.
