LOLC Finance has been recognized as Sri Lanka’s Most Valuable NBFI Brand for the fifth consecutive year, solidifying its market leadership in brand value within the Financial Services sector.

In the Brand Finance Sri Lanka 100 rankings for 2026, LOLC Finance secured 15th place overall, recording a brand value of LKR 13,788 million alongside an AA+ brand rating, emphasising the sustained strength of the brand within Sri Lanka’s financial landscape.

Brand Finance evaluates brands based on internationally recognised standards, combining measures of brand value with a comprehensive assessment of brand strength through metrics such as marketing investment, stakeholder equity and business performance. Brand Finance is the world’s first consultancy certified to provide ISO-compliant brand valuation and evaluation, and the first to produce reports compliant with both ISO 10668 and ISO 20671 standards.

Commenting on the recognition, Krishan Thilakaratne, Chief Executive Officer of LOLC Finance, said, “This recognition reflects the relationship with our stakeholders that extends well beyond financial transactions. At LOLC Finance, it is not simply about providing financial solutions; it is about contributing to people’s livelihoods and building relationships that can evolve into journeys lasting a decade or more. Every customer has a story, and our responsibility is to be a meaningful part of that journey. Financial literacy is also an important part of what we deliver, helping customers develop stronger savings and insurance habits alongside access to finance.

We have established ourselves as a leading financial services provider by becoming the largest SME, micro, Islamic, working capital and factoring financier, while offering one of the broadest product portfolios in the NBFI sector. Today, our competitive landscape extends beyond the NBFI sector into the wider banking space, across assets, liabilities, capital and profitability. This recognition reinforces the strength of the brand we have built and the trust we continue to earn from our stakeholders.”

LOLC Finance combines the accessibility and personal connection of face-to-face relationships, particularly for its customers, with technology designed to make financial services faster, simpler and more convenient. This people-first approach is supported by a network of more than 200 branches, complemented by digital platforms and round-the-clock customer access.

With close to 20% market share of the industry’s asset and loan base, as well as its deposit base, LOLC Finance holds a significant position within Sri Lanka’s NBFI sector. This position is underpinned by a diversified product platform and a funding franchise of significant scale, further strengthening the company’s ability to serve a broad and evolving customer base.

Commenting on the recognition, Prasad Perera, Head of Marketing Communications at LOLC Finance said, “Retaining our position as Sri Lanka’s Most Valuable NBFI brand and ranking 15th among the country’s Top 100 most valuable brands is a strong endorsement of the strategy we have followed. What we are especially proud of is the AA+ Brand Rating. Brand value reflects scale, but the rating reflects quality. Brand Finance arrives at it by assessing the strength of a brand across three dimensions: the investment behind it, the equity it holds with customers and other stakeholders, and the business performance it delivers. An AA+ rating tells us that LOLC Finance is performing strongly on all three, and that our brand is not only large but also resilient and capable of generating value well into the future. That outcome comes from discipline. We keep a careful balance between long-term brand building and short-term activation, so that every campaign that drives business today also strengthens how customers think and feel about us tomorrow. We manage our share of voice in line with our market leadership, use data and audience insights to make our investment work harder, and support a broad portfolio of products, including category-defining brands such as Speed Draft, under a single, coherent master brand.’’

As LOLC Finance continues to strengthen its position as a leading brand in Sri Lanka’s financial services sector, its focus remains on building brand equity through meaningful customer relationships, consistent brand experiences and strategic brand investments.
