President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has called on Sri Lankans to face present challenges with courage and unity, urging compassion and solidarity this Christmas.
In his Christmas Day message, the President said the season was being observed at a decisive moment, following a severe natural disaster that tested the nation’s resilience.
He said the response of citizens who helped those affected reflected the true meaning of Christmas: love, sharing and sacrifice.
Calling for renewed humanity through compassion, he said Christmas should bring peace, joy and hope to every home across Sri Lanka.
