The Colombo High Court has postponed further hearing of the bribery case filed against former Minister Wimal Weerawansa over allegations of unlawfully acquiring assets worth more than Rs. 75 million beyond his legitimate income.

The case was taken up today (3) before Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihail.

Following submissions, the judge ordered the case to be taken up again on 22 September 2026, and directed witnesses to appear in court on that date.

CIABOC filed the case alleging that Weerawansa unlawfully acquired assets exceeding his legitimate income between 2010 and 2014 while serving as a Cabinet Minister.
