The Ministry of Health has called on the public to extend maximum support to medical teams visiting homes and schools for the 5th National Oral Health Survey, which is scheduled to begin tomorrow (10).
Under this national survey, data will be collected from a randomly selected sample of 10,000 schoolchildren and adults across all districts.
According to the Ministry, information regarding schoolchildren will be gathered within school premises, while data from adults will be collected during visits to households.
The process will include completing an oral-health-related questionnaire and conducting an oral health examination.
Deputy Director General of Dental Services, Specialist Dr. Chandana Gajanayake, stated that the data collected through this survey will play a crucial role in planning future health services.
