The No.3 Maritime Squadron of the Sri Lanka Air Force, established in 1965 during the Royal Ceylon Air Force period and has done yeomen service to the nation, was awarded the  President’s Colour in recognition of their distinguished service history, decisive role in military operations, its continued commitment to safeguarding the the island nation’s vast maritime domain. 

The President’s Colour awarding ceremony, the SLAF’s 14th, was held at China Bay, Trincomalee. The Commanding Officer of No. 3 Squadron, Group Captain Nishantha Seneviratne received the President’s Colour, while Flight Lieutenant Manoj Alwis served as the Colour Bearer Officer.
