Several landslides have been reported in parts of the Central Province following heavy rainfall, the National Building Research Organisation stated. 

A landslide in the Denapitiya area of Udadumbara damaged several houses, prompting precautionary evacuations. 

Another landslide has blocked the Walapane road near Rikillagaskada.

Authorities said rainfall exceeded 300 mm in parts of Kandy and more than 100 mm in Matale.

The Disaster Management Centre urged residents in landslide-prone areas to remain vigilant and evacuate immediately if early warning signs are observed.
