The death toll resulting from the recent adverse weather conditions in Sri Lanka has climbed to 193, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has confirmed.

The DMC also stated that at least 228 individuals remain missing across the island.

The figures reflect the devastating impact of the floods and landslides that have affected multiple districts.

Search and relief operations are continuing intensively across the affected regions.

Authorities and security forces are working to locate the missing and provide assistance to thousands displaced by the ongoing disaster situation.
