The Vehicle Importers’ Association of Sri Lanka (VIASL) confirmed that no official announcement on resuming vehicle imports has been received.
According to the VIASL, the uncertainty is disrupting the market and urged the Government to clarify its stance.
If imports resume, the VIASL plans to prioritize importing buses and lorries, followed by other vehicles in phases.
The Association also advised vehicle owners not to sell at reduced prices due to speculation, emphasizing the need for an official timeline to stabilize the industry.
