The government plans to introduce guidelines for public officials to carry out duties online.

The guidelines, prepared by the Ministry of Digital Economy, are expected to be issued by 20 April.

The move aims to ensure uninterrupted public services while managing fuel and energy use.

The decision was discussed at a Cabinet-appointed committee meeting chaired by PM Harini Amarasuriya.
