Indictments have been served at the Matara High Court against eight suspects, including former Inspector General of Police Deshabandu Tennakoon, over the fatal shooting at a hotel in Pelana, Weligama, on 31 December 2023.

All eight suspects appeared before the Matara High Court today (7) and were released on bail.

The court ordered cash bail of Rs. 250,000 each and four personal bail bonds of Rs. 5 million each. The case will be called again on 27 November.
