Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa appeared before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today after an arrest warrant was issued against him.

His lawyer, Manjula Pathiraja, informed the court that Weerawansa was unable to appear on time due to a vehicle breakdown and requested that the warrant be recalled.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama directed the defence to make the request by motion tomorrow.
