Sri Lankans seeking employment in Israel will be recruited exclusively through government-to-government agreements from 2027, according to a new Israeli government policy.

The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) stated that the existing recruitment programme through licensed foreign employment agencies will end on 31 December 2026.

The policy will cover construction, industrial, commercial and service sectors. However, details of the new recruitment process, available jobs and selection procedures have not yet been announced.

The SLBFE has urged job seekers not to pay individuals or agencies claiming to offer jobs in Israel or participate in private skills assessments and interviews until further official instructions are issued.
