The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Selection Committee has officially announced the 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup set to take place in Malaysia and a notable feature is the inclusion of the daughter of former national skipper Tillakaratne Dilshan.
The tournament, featuring 16 teams, is scheduled to commence on 18 January.
Sri Lanka is placed in Group A alongside Malaysia, the West Indies, and India for the preliminary round. The Sri Lankan team left for Malaysia yesterday (11).
The team will be captained by Manudi Nanayakkara of Princess of Wales’ College, Moratuwa, with Rashmika Sewwandi of Anura College, Matara serving as Vice Captain.
A notable inclusion in the squad is Limansa Thilakarathne, the daughter of former Sri Lanka Cricket Captain Dilshan.
