All three generating units at the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant have been reconnected to Sri Lanka’s national grid following their shutdown after the islandwide power outage on 17 October.
The units were taken offline as a precaution after the sudden power failure.
The National System Operator (Pvt) Ltd. had previously stated that the plant would remain disconnected for several days in line with standard safety protocols following the emergency.
