Maithree Wickremesinghe, wife of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, was summoned to appear before the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) of the CID today (20). 

It is reported that she was unable to attend as scheduled.

The CID informed the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court on 18 February that Maithree Wickremesinghe had been issued a notice to appear in connection with an ongoing investigation related to her husband. 

While no official reason was provided for her absence, it is believed to be due to health issues.

She was scheduled to provide a statement regarding the investigation concerning former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, but her attendance was postponed.
