Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath has concluded his official visit to Thailand, held from 14 to 16 September.
During the visit, Sri Lanka and Thailand signed agreements on labour cooperation and the employment of Sri Lankan workers, opening 10,000 employment opportunities for Sri Lankans.
The agreements aim to establish a framework for recruitment while ensuring workers’ rights, welfare and protection.
Minister Herath also held discussions on economic cooperation, investment, tourism, education, maritime security, cultural exchanges and a proposed visa exemption agreement for ordinary passport holders.
