The Department of Meteorology Sri Lanka stated that showers or thundershowers are expected in several provinces after 1.00 p.m. today (12).

Fairly heavy rainfall of around 75 mm is likely in parts of Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces, and in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Showers may also occur in some areas in the morning, particularly in the Southern Province and parts of the Eastern region.

Misty conditions are expected in parts of Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during early hours.

The public is advised to take precautions against lightning and strong winds.
