29 Mar 2026

The Colombo Kickerz Football Academy recently announced that Lady J, through its sportswear brand Airtrack, would serve as its Main Sponsor for the upcoming 2026/’27 football season, while ThePapare would be its Digital Media Partner.

These partnerships mark a milestone for the academy as it continues its mission of developing the next generation of football talent in Sri Lanka.

Founded with the vision of nurturing young footballers and providing them with opportunities to grow both on and off the field, Colombo Kickerz has established itself as one of the leading youth football academies in Colombo.

Over the years, the academy has organised numerous tournaments, training camps, international tours, and grassroots development initiatives that have helped hundreds of young players pursue their passion for football.

The partnership with Lady J further strengthens this vision. Through its sportswear brand Airtrack, Lady J has been actively supporting youth development at Colombo Kickerz.

As the Main Sponsor, Airtrack will feature prominently on the official Colombo Kickerz playing kits and will support key academy initiatives and tournaments throughout the season.

Speaking about the partnership, Colombo Kickerz Founder and Academy Head Viveca Weerasinghe expressed delight in having Lady J and Airtrack as the Main Sponsor of the academy.

Lady J Managing Director Anuruddha Wijerathne also expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting the importance of investing in grassroots sports and supporting young athletes.

Wijerathne further emphasised Lady J’s commitment to making each home a happier place every day, recognising that happy children build happy families. He also appreciated Colombo Kickerz’s professionalism and commitment in developing its players.

The 2026/’27 football season promises to be an exciting one for Colombo Kickerz as its CEO Romario De Silva listed out several major initiatives lined up for the year ahead including the Kickerz Cup, international tournament participation, training camps, and expanded opportunities for girls’ football development.

The 2026/’27 season calendar includes international tournaments for boys and the girls. “We started off the year with the Abu Dhabi Cup as we travelled with the U12 and U14 teams. We did our part with a CSR programme with YKK Lanka, providing equipment to students in Badulla,” a spokesman for Colombo Kickerz stated.

He added: “Our coaches travelled to Turin for a training camp which saw them learn new things that we have implemented already in our day-to-day training sessions. Our U13s won an away tournament in Kandana, which no doubt was a thrilling day to be a part of.

“The month of March saw us host a number of age-specific tournaments on each Thursday as we aim to continue to provide children game time, which is a vital aspect in their quest to sharpen skills such as decision-making.

“We will also be taking a girls’ team to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as we look to strengthen and develop the girls’ game with international experience and exposure. The Juventus Camp will yet again be an event which highlights our partnership with the Italian giants as we look to strengthen our links with the esteemed football club from Europe.”
