Former Ministry Secretary and ex-Chairman of the Sri Lanka Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRCSL), Anusha Palpita, was granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court in connection with a case involving the unlawful accumulation of assets.

The court issued the bail order after considering submissions from officers of the Bribery Commission and counsel representing Palpita. Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama directed that Palpita be released on bail.
