The Department of Meteorology Sri Lanka forecasts showers or thundershowers in several parts of Sri Lanka after 2.00 p.m. today (05).
Rainfall of around 50 mm is likely in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces, as well as in Polonnaruwa district.
Misty conditions are expected during the morning in several areas, including Jaffna and Kurunegala.
Authorities have urged the public to take precautions against lightning and temporary strong winds.
Meanwhile, the sun will be directly overhead parts of Sri Lanka between April 5 and April 15, with areas such as Dodanduwa, Akuressa and Ussangoda experiencing this phenomenon around 12:13 p.m. today.
