Several families in Ruwanwella’s Ratthagala area and the Rozella Manikkawatta colony in Hatton have been evacuated due to landslide risks. 

Officials stated 11 families from Ratthagala were moved to the Ratthagala Primary School.

In Hatton, 50 people from 13 families were relocated to Welioya Tamil Maha Vidyalaya as a precaution. 

Authorities are continuing to monitor slope stability in both areas following persistent heavy rainfall.
