Sri Lanka has appointed Dimuthu Samaranayake as the Honorary Consul in Adelaide, South Australia.

Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Australia Yasoja Gunasekera handed over the Commission of Appointment on 4 March 2026 at the Sri Lanka High Commission in Canberra.

Samaranayake will oversee consular affairs in South Australia and support trade, investment and tourism links with Sri Lanka.

He also noted plans to assist the Sri Lankan community in South Australia in coordination with the Sri Lanka High Commission in Canberra and the Consulate General in Melbourne.
