A total of 980 individuals were arrested during 1,053 island-wide raids conducted yesterday (05) under the “Nation United – National Drive” campaign aimed at eradicating drugs from the country, police stated.

The raids led to the seizure of 3.3 kg of heroin, 1.1 kg of crystal methamphetamine (‘Ice’), 54.4 kg of cannabis, and 11.3 kg of hashish.

Investigations into illegally acquired assets have been launched against nine suspects, while 19 others are being held under detention orders.

Four drug addicts identified during the operations have been referred for rehabilitation.

The “Nation United – National Drive” was launched on 30 October to combat the spread of narcotics nationwide.
