Senior DIG Waruna Jayasundara, Commandant of the Police Special Task Force (STF), has been transferred to the Eastern Province, effective 12 February.

DIG D.G.S. De Silva will take over as the new STF Commandant. Several other Senior DIGs, DIGs, and OICs have also been reassigned following approval from the National Police Commission.
